"Moving to Flight Schedule Pro from MyFBO was essential to modernizing our school with essential features and safeguards that help our school run more efficiently while making sure everything we do is compliant. Flight Schedule Pro is so much more than just a scheduling and maintenance program, with its ability to add any custom curriculum that allows admins to put in safeguards, required documents, reporting, and certifying curriculum completion. I highly recommend this program."
Charles Dress, Chief Pilot | Sterling Flight Training Part 141 & Part 61 | 17-Aircraft Operation
MyFBO's impending shutdown leaves flight schools, flying clubs, and training centers in an uncomfortable position: a forced migration on a tight timeline, with active students, instructors, and billing cycles that cannot wait. We’ve talked to many of these schools. The questions we've been hearing are consistent, practical, and fair.
Pilotbase (makers of Flight Schedule Pro) helps more than 1,400 flight schools manage their operations, many of them former MyFBO customers. Here’s everything flight school operators are asking us right now.
Workflow & Feature Parity
Will Flight Schedule Pro support the workflows we've relied on in MyFBO for 10, 15, even 20 years?
Yes. The core operational areas MyFBO schools depend on — scheduling and dispatch, billing and payments, maintenance awareness, reporting, and instructor and fleet coordination — are all covered inside our Flight Ops platform.
To date, we have yet to encounter a feature from MyFBO that Pilotbase Flight Ops (aka Flight Schedule Pro) doesn't either replicate exactly or handle with a more advanced equivalent. When schools come to us with specific workflow concerns during their evaluation, we address them one by one in a demo so there are no surprises after signing.
What's actually different between MyFBO and Flight Schedule Pro?
The biggest difference is that Pilotbase Flight Ops (aka Flight Schedule Pro) is a connected platform, not a collection of independent tools. Rather than scheduling living in one place and billing in another, everything shares a common data layer. A reservation automatically informs a billing record. A maintenance squawk updates fleet availability in real time. And student training progress is visible to instructors, admins, and students.
MyFBO handled the basics well but Flight Ops was built to handle the complexity that comes as a school grows: more aircraft, more students, more instructors, more compliance requirements.
Are there features in MyFBO that Flight Schedule Pro doesn't have?
Not in any material way that has affected a migration. Every school that has come to us with a specific MyFBO workflow concern has found either a direct equivalent or a better solution inside Flight Ops (aka Flight Schedule Pro). The honest caveat: ours is a configurable platform, so some capabilities require setup during onboarding rather than working out of the box. That’s why our onboarding team walks through this with you one-to-one.
Data Migration
Can I bring my MyFBO data over to Flight Schedule Pro?
Yes, and this is one of the most important steps to take before MyFBO shuts down. MyFBO gives customers the ability to generate and download a .bak file (a database backup). This file includes your student training history, user information, and aircraft maintenance tracking records.
Our Pilotbase service delivery team can use this file to assist with the general framework and setup of your account configuration, giving you a meaningful head start instead of building from scratch.
Do this now, regardless of which platform you ultimately choose. Your operational history belongs to you, and securing it before the shutdown is a critical step.
What data doesn't transfer?
Every account's data is a little different based on how it was configured and used in MyFBO. Rather than make blanket claims about what transfers universally, we review your specific data individually. This happens early in the onboarding process so you know exactly what to expect.
What do I need to do to prepare for migration before making a decision?
Two things you can do right now, before you've committed to any platform:
-
Download your .bak file from MyFBO. Log into your MyFBO account and generate the database backup. Save it somewhere safe.
-
Gather your payment processing documentation if you plan to use integrated billing. Having this ready accelerates access to key workflows and student financing tools.
Pricing & Cash Flow
How much does Flight Schedule Pro cost? Will it be more than what I pay now?
We want to be clear: no one, including us, wants flight school operations to be disrupted. Normally, our pricing is competitive with what MyFBO schools are paying today. Right now, we’re working with former MyFBO schools to minimize the financial impact of this unfortunate situation.
The best way to get an accurate number for your school is to request a pricing proposal directly, which our team can provide after a brief conversation about your needs. There are no surprise fees buried in the process.
Onboarding & Go-Live Timeline
How long does the transition actually take?
We’re actively bringing former MyFBO schools onto Pilotbase Flight Ops (aka Flight Schedule Pro) in as little as four weeks when they’re prepared to move fast. Our team is dedicated to accelerating these customers quickly, given the situation.
How much work does my team have to do versus your team?
We have a highly experienced team dedicated to your success – during initial onboarding and for as long as you’re a partner. For onboarding, expect a technical account manager for kickoff, group training sessions, and weekly one-on-ones to answer questions and keep the project moving. Your team's primary job is to clarify workflows and priorities for us during your setup.
Can we get a sandbox or trial before committing?
Yes. We don't immediately offer a self-serve free trial because Flight Schedule Pro by Pilotbase is a configurable platform, and dropping someone into it without context tends to create more confusion than clarity. A guided demo and then a sandbox is the sequence that actually helps schools make a good decision.
Curriculum & Ground School
We use custom curriculum. Can we replicate it in Flight Schedule Pro?
Yes. We support the creation of fully custom flight training curriculum inside the platform. Your onboarding team can assist with the setup and configuration of custom curriculum as part of the onboarding process.
We use Jeppesen syllabus. How does that work in Flight Schedule Pro?
We can provide your school with infrastructure to build your syllabus directly, with self-help resources and team support to do it. Your account executive can walk through your specific options.
What ground school providers does Flight Schedule Pro integrate with?
Sporty's, King Schools, and AviatorPro. And we're continuing to expand ground school partnerships, so if you're using another provider, ask about this during your demo conversation.
Maintenance Tracking
Does Flight Schedule Pro have the same maintenance tracking and work order capability we rely on in MyFBO?
Yes, and for most schools, it goes further. Pilotbase Flight Ops (aka Flight Schedule Pro) includes out-of-the-box maintenance reminders, squawk tracking, and fleet-wide maintenance visibility built directly into the scheduling workflow so your dispatch team knows aircraft status without having to check a separate system.
For schools that need more, there's a Maintenance Hub that includes digital work orders, a parts and inventory list, a work log, maintenance invoicing, and technician-level access controls. Maintenance reminders that are already scheduled can roll automatically into digital work orders, reducing manual entry for your maintenance team.
Can we track maintenance history going back years?
Yes. Your historical maintenance data can be imported as part of the .bak file migration process, within the scope of what your school decides to bring over.
Integrations & Ecosystem
Does Flight Schedule Pro connect to our accounting software?
Flight Schedule Pro by Pilotbase’s billing hub is designed to reduce the need for manual accounting reconciliation. For specific accounting software integration questions (QuickBooks and others), your account executive can speak to the details during your demo.
Is there student financing built in to Flight Schedule Pro?
Yes. There are exclusive student financing partners available only through the Pilotbase platform, and as a result, schools can connect financing into the training progress. The major Flight Ops advantage: schools gain a clearer operational picture of each student's journey overall. For Part 61 and Part 141 schools, access to financing has historically been one of the most significant barriers to student starts, and having it integrated rather than managed externally is a meaningful operational advantage.
Part 141 & FAA Compliance
We're a Part 141 school. Does Flight Schedule Pro support that level of compliance?
Yes. Pilotbase Flight Ops (aka Flight Schedule Pro) supports Part 141 training course outline (TCO) management, stage check tracking, standardization workflows, and the reporting required for Part 141 operations. The platform also positions schools well for FAA Part 141 modernization requirements that are ongoing, which increasingly favor schools with connected, digital record-keeping systems already in place.
Can admins set required documents and completion checkpoints inside the curriculum?
Yes, and this is one of the capabilities that Part 141 schools specifically call out as a meaningful upgrade from MyFBO. Admins can configure curriculum so that required documents must be uploaded and specific milestones certified before a student can advance. This creates built-in compliance safeguards that don't require manual oversight at every step.
International Schools
We're a Canadian school. Does Flight Schedule Pro work for us?
Flight Schedule Pro has Canadian customers and supports their operations.
Are there international schools using Flight Schedule Pro outside North America?
Yes. Flight Schedule Pro works with approximately 1,400 flight training organizations around the world. If you have specific regulatory questions relevant to your country, raise them during your demo conversation and the right team member can address them directly.
Post-Launch Support
What does support look like after we go live?
Support doesn't stop at go-live. Pilotbase has a dedicated customer success team focused on ongoing optimization and platform adoption beyond the initial launch, as well as a separate product support team for technical issues. You're not handed a login and left to figure it out.
We're a small school. Will we get lost in your 1,400-customer base?
This is a fair assumption, but the answer is no. The size of our customer base reflects the stability and maturity of the platform; it doesn't mean smaller schools get less attention. The same structured onboarding process applies regardless of fleet size, and customer success support continues after go-live for operations of all sizes.
How does ongoing support work for a flying club versus a flight school?
Pilotbase Flight Ops is used by both flying clubs and flight training schools, and the platform is configurable to match the different operational models.
How to Get Started
If you haven't already, the most important step you can take right now is downloading your .bak file from MyFBO. This protects your operational history regardless of which platform you move to.
